Agreeing with Coach King (Smith) that in light of time, potential weather, and to open up a day next week to practice, especially in light of one postponement already due to Smith Player availability, the Cowgirls and Lady Eagles decided on playing a double header.

The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

Smith was to begin with 5 players instead of the customary 6 due to attrition through the beginning part of the season.

Weather was beautiful...well cooler than my room today at school.

The Cowgirls disembarked the bus.  Coolers were toted.  Bathroom found.

And we waited.

One (1) Lady Eagle arrived to the court.

One more Lady Eagle called to say she could find a ride from the Early College.

Three more didn't respond to coaches texts. 

I was heartbroken for the Lady Eagles.

Readers, you know my heart.  Though winning is nice, especially against conference teams, I want the ladies to play, play well, and learn...well we posted wins tonight....little else happened.

To honor the one Lady Eagle who did show, I offered for her to play Avery McCaskill at her talent spot. 

It was a delightful match cheered on by the Cowgirls and two friends of the Lady Eagles.

Avery had her shot for shot and was victorious 6-0.  The Lady Eagle played and moved well, just Avery, beginner as she is, edged her counterpart out on skill today.

Cowgirls won by defeat in the first match and by a win and default in the second match.

Good luck to the Lady Eagles in the rest of the season and I pray for an incredible recruiting drive going into Fall 2019
