Cowgirls hosting the Lady Cougars of HPCA in nonconference tennis action
Playing full up against the Cougars, it was split as to the outcome from early on.
Taking 1, 5, and 6 with relative ease, Kyra, Katelyn and Lanie all cruised in their wins.
Courts 2,3, and 4 all took a few months off my life.
Mai battled well on court 2 but the Cougar had a flow in her shots that was hard to overcome. Pushing wide and long because of the relative shorter balls, Mai couldn’t find her groove and lost 5-10.
Meghan and her counterpart held serve through the first 15 games. One brief error in focus and Meghan lost her service game, and couldn’t recover to topple the Cougar. 7-10.
Sam played an incredible match. Down, but drawing back to 5 all, then swapping serves….always one service game down to her opponent…9-10. Unable to hold serve, 9-11.
Singles 3-3
Cowgirls needed to win 2 of the 3 matches to claim victory in the match overall.
It didn’t look good.
2 and 3 dubs fell 0-3. Court 1 1-2. Court 2 added more insult to injury, 0-5.

Court 1 – Kyra/Mai 1-4, 2-4, 2-5, 3-5, 4-5, 5-5, 5-6, 5-7, 5-8.
The magic didn’t shine on Court 1 tonight
Court 3 – Katelyn/Gretchen 0-3, 1-3, 1-4, 2-4, 2-5, 3-5, 4-5, 4-6, 5-6, 6-6, 6-7, 6-8.
Once more, the magic well ran dry.
Courts 1 and 3 for the Cougars played a much different dubs than singles. Stupid synergistic effect that didn’t work in our favor.
Court 2, started out started down 0-5.
