Southwest Cowgirls Tennis over the Lady Falcons of SE 7-2 in non-conference action

A bit warm tonight for the Cowgirls final regular season match, but Coach was wearing short shorts and a camouflage tank top that read “I’m Hiding.”  This coupled with his trusty Mister Fan and fanny pack to hold the extra batteries and water bottle...Coach was ready for the match.

Having already played the Lady Falcons during the second week of play, the Cowgirls played a bit deep.

Meghsn on court 1 - no issues as she cruised to a 10-1 victory.  

Gretchen on Court 2 - struggled in the first 4 games, began to get her footing with a hold and a break.  Course reversed. One more comeback. Lost 7-10 in a fairly complete game. Her opponent just kept it in a bit more than Gretchen could and earned the win.

Lanie on court 3 - rolled to a 10-1 victory.

Lydia Specht on Court 4 - the Senior kept her play in check and took the win 10-0

Abigail Lowe on court 5 - Footwork.  Still working on Footwork. Solid hits, began moving around game 4.  The opponent kept things interesting. Abby prevailed 10-5.

Avery McCaskill - Last match of the season for sophomore Avery.  Better hits, movement improving, footwork coming around...though she lost, a great improvement over the course of the season.  Avery should be able to gain ground on the other returners as she enters into her jr season.

4-2 Cowgirls advantage after singles.

Dubs:

We cruised.

All 3 dubs courts.

Whalen/Cross and Annie Bodin/Lauren Cook both took theis matches 8-0.

Aletha Yu/Johaina Apolinario 8-3

SW takes the win and finishes the season 17-2, 4-2 in conference.

Conference begins next Tuesday and Wednesday [Oct 9/10] hosted by Mt Tabor.

Coach will post again after the1st day of conference tourney.
