Derek Anderson born in Danville Virginia and a native of Reidsville, NC. The son of James & Joyce of Reidsville NC. He is married to Shaune B. Anderson and they have two children (DeSean & Maya) and one grandson (Torrence). Anderson a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School and NC Agricultural & Technical State University. 

Anderson has been with Guilford County Schools for 31 years and enters his 5 th year at SW Guilford. During his time at The Ranch he has served as Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, and coached several different position groups most recently the offensive line. 

Over his career he has coached football, basketball, and track & Field in his 31 years filling several different roles as an assistant coach, defensive coordinator, Head Football Coach, Head Men’s Track Coach, Head JV Boys Basketball Coach, FCA Huddle leader, athletic director, regional track director, and a participant / presenter in several NCHSA student support service indicatives over his career while serving the Guildford County Schools at Ragsdale, T.W. Andrews, Southwest Guilford Middle, and Southwest Guilford High School.
