GLENN: 2

Meeting for the second time this season and beating the Bobcats soundly last round, Coach decided to change it up and play deeper.

Highlights include - Singles:

Though winning always ranks high on the agenda, allowing for the development of next year's starters takes precedence when the opponent's talent allows.  Still strong at 1 & 2, Maggie Jermyn and Sophia Nagy took to the courts.  Both beating the drum loudly for the Ranch, both stayed on the courts longer than the rest of the top 6, but ended up slitting their efforts...Maggie won 1 & 2, Sophia fell to a talented #2 3 & 4.  Both played wonderfully on the court.  Maggie was able to dominate her opponent with both her deep shots and excellent net play.  Sophia, dropped the first set, but not with wild shots, rather, missing by inches, at the net and along the baseline.  The second set proved to lean her way initially.  Sophia's serves began to hit, recording at least two aces.  Her shots became crisp, her legs new life, her cross court sure, but it was the consistent play of her opponent, not flashy, but in, that spelled out the results in the lone singles win for the Bobcats.   Congratulations to Erin Shelton, Carley Anne Bullman, Ellen Druebbisch, and Katherine Wuinn for their wins, allowing the bobcats only one game between all 4 courts.

Having won the match in singles, coach played up, preparing the cowgirls for conference play.  Catherine Jobe and Hannah Mills (currently #3 dubs) played up at #1 doubles.  A tight match ensued v Glenn's #1 & 2 ladies.  Holding serve through the first 12 games, at 6-6 Glenn finally broke the serving efforts of the Cowgirls and played out the last three games as such - winning 8-6, but a strong showing v a very capable team.

The last two dubs went smoothly with the Cowgirls only one game reprieve for each of their respective matches.

Cowgirls win 7-2

Cowgirls rise to 9-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

They travel to Ragsdale for another Conference match on thursday.
