Day 2 of the Sheetz Holiday Classic ended with the 2nd semifinal of the night as the hosting Southwest Guilford faced off against the Yellowjackets of Lexington High School. Lexington knocked off High Point Central yesterday, and the Cowboys handled the Wildcats of Westchester. The Cowoboys were hoping to have a start like last night. The Cowboys wasted little time, building an 11-0 lead at the 4:25 mark. It wasn't until the 4:09 mark that the Yellowjackets got on the board with a 3 pointer, making it 11-3. Another 5-0 spurt by the Cowboys made it 16-3 before the Yellowjackets scored again taking it to 16-6 at the 3:19 point. Yet another 5-0 spurt made it 21-6 at the 2:51 point in the frame. This pattern continued as the opening frame eventually ended in favor of the Cowboys at 32-16. The second quarter showed the started with the Yellowjackets start to swarm their way back into the game, out hustling and aggressively taking advantage of sloppy defense. Lexington got it down to 36-28 at the 5:15 mark. Following a Southwest timeout, the Cowboys then closed the half out strongly, using a 19-3 blitz which included an 18-0 run to take the halftime tally to 55-31. Lexington stung first to open the second half with a 3-pointer making it 55-34, but a 9-0 spurt by the hosts took it to 64-34 with 5:20 to go in the frame. The similar pattern of a Lexington score, followed by multiple Cowboys' baskets continued until the frame closed at 76-45. The final frame was the exact same as the Cowboys opened with a 9-0 run to make it 85-45 at the 6:25 mark, and the clock wound down quickly on the night taking the Cowboys to a 94-51 victory and into tomorrow night's Championship game against Weslyean. Lexington was led by Marquise Jordan with 18 points. Soutwest again placed 4 in double figures, featuring: Keyshaun Langley (26, 5 Asts, 4 Stls, 2 Rebs), Kameron Langley (20, 6 Asts, 4 Rebs, 2 Stls), Kobe Langley (14, 6 Asts, 5 Rebs, 3 Stls), and Brandon Lamberth (14, 2 Rebs, 2 Stls).
