The Southwest Cowboys varsity baseball team hosted the Trinity Bulldogs in an early season non-conference game on Thursday night.  Jacob Edwards’s pitching and solid team defense limited the Bulldog offense to just one run and 3 hits in an 11-1 victory for the Cowboys.  Edwards struck out eight batters in four innings to record the win.  Sean McIntosh recorded two strikeouts as he finished off the Bulldogs in one inning of solid relief. 

Once again, the Cowboy offense produced many scoring opportunities up and down the lineup. The game was blown wide open with a 6-run fourth inning that saw all nine Cowboys hitters at the plate.  The Cowboys offense was led by Kyle Blendinger’s 3-for-3, 4 RBI outing.  Bulldog pitchers also couldn’t find a way to keep Garrison Thornton from being productive at the plate.  He recorded 2 hits, a walk, and a sacrifice bunt in his 4 plate appearances. Thornton also collected 3 RBI’s.  Edwards, Tommy Zente, and Colin Busick also recorded base hits. AJ Allen and Tom Grose, along with Edwards, Thornton, and Busick each scored twice.

The Cowboys next game is another match with Trinity High School on Tuesday, March 7th at 5pm.  The game will be played at Trinity.
