The hot bats continued for the Southwest Cowboys varsity baseball team when they traveled to Trinity to take on the Bulldogs for the second time in 3 games. The Cowboys racked up 12 hits and drew 10 walks on their way to a 13-0 victory. Kyle Blendinger had another masterful outing on the mound, striking out 8 while allowing only 2 hits in his 6 innings of work.

The Cowboys offense was lead by Mason Chu, who crushed 2 doubles and a single during his 3-for-4, 2-RBI night at the plate. Sophomores Tom Grose and Isaiah Hairston both collected two hits while Jacob Edwards, Garrison Thornton, Kyle Blendinger, Tommy Zente, and Jason Coble each had hits as well. Edwards and Blendinger both knocked in 2 runs and Zente, Coble, and Hairston also had RBI’s. AJ Allen drew 3 walks in his four plate appearances.

Blendinger got the win in a remarkably efficient outing on the bump. He only needed 72 pitches in his 6 innings and only faced 21 batters. Sean McIntosh came on in the seventh inning and struck out two to finish the Bulldogs off.

The Cowboys next game will be at Grimsley High School on Friday, March 10th at 7pm. Come early to watch the JV team in action.  JV starts at 4:30.
