The opportunistic Southwest Cowboy varsity baseball team took advantage of 7 errors and 7 walks to defeat the Grimsley Whirlies, 7-2 in baseball action on a frigid Friday night on the Whirlies home field. Jacob Edwards picked up the win on the mound while striking out 7 in 4 1/3 innings of work. Sean McIntosh got the save by finishing off the Whirlies in the last 2 2/3 innings.
Mason Chu had another effective night at the plate picking up 2 more RBI’s and his 4th double of the young season. Edwards, Kyle Blendinger, and Tommy Zente also recorded base hits. Edwards crossed the plate 4 times for the Cowboys, reaching base every time he came to the plate.
The Cowboys next game will be at home versus East Davidson High School on Tuesday, March 14th at 5pm.
