The Southwest Cowboy varsity baseball hosted the Ledford Panthers on a beautiful Saturday afternoon over the weekend.  The state-ranked Panthers were just coming off their first loss of the season while the Cowboys had just upped their season record to 6-0 the previous evening.  North Carolina State commit Chris Villaman’s pitching proved too much for the Cowboys as they succumbed by a score of 6 - 0.

Villaman had a perfect game going until The Cowboys Sean McIntosh smashed a double to deep center field in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Colin Busick pitched well  in his first start of the season but would have to have been near perfect to compete with Villaman on this day.  Busick took the loss and was relieved by Tommy Zente in the fifth.

The Cowboys next game will be at home versus Glenn High School. The game is their first conference game of the season and will be played at 7pm on Tuesday, March 21st.
