The Southwest Cowboy varsity baseball team opened their conference schedule by hosting the Glenn Bobcats on Tuesday night. It was a matchup of two of the best pitchers in the conference as the Cowboys had Kyle Blendinger on the bump to face Jackson Striplin and the Bobcats.  Blendinger pitched another great outing, leading the Cowboys to a 4-0 victory.

Blendinger pitched all but the last out of the game and record 11 strikeouts while only giving up 2 hits - both of them to Glenn’s all-conference center fielder Kier Meredith.  Sean McIntosh came on in relief to strike out the last Bobcat hitter.  Striplin only gave up 1 hit but struggled with his control as he walked 6 Cowboy batters.  Both Jacob Edwards and Blendinger had triples to lead the Cowboy offense while Tommy Zente recorded the other Cowboy hit. Edwards, Blendinger, and Zente also had RBI’s , as did Mason Chu.

The Cowboys next game will be a rematch with Ledford High School on the Panthers home field. The game will be played at 5pm on Wednesday, March 22nd.
