The Southwest Cowboy varsity baseball team suffered their first conference loss of the season to Glenn High School on Friday night.  Despite out-hitting the Bobcats 6-2, the Cowboys lost by a 4-1 margin.  Jacob Edwards pitched well but took the loss, his first of the season.  The Cowboys had opportunities in the third, fourth, and fifth innings but left two base-runners stranded in each of those frames.

Edwards had the lone Cowboy RBI on a single in the third inning, knocking in Peyton Walls.   Tommy Zente, Garrison Thornton, Isaiah Hairston, Mason Chu, and AJ Allen had the other Cowboy hits.  With the loss the Cowboys drop to 5-1 but remain alone at the top of the conference due to East Forsyth’s loss to High Point Central on Friday night. Overall, the Cowboys are 12-3.

The Cowboys will travel to Raleigh to play in the Bobby Murray invitational baseball tournament Thursday through Saturday this week.  They games will be played at Millbrook High School.  The Cowboys play the host team on Thursday, April 13th at 4pm.  On Friday, they will play Broughton High School, also at 4pm.
