The Southwest Cowboys varsity baseball team edged past High Point Central 3-2 in the semifinals of Piedmont Triad 4A conference tournament.  Kyle Blendinger pitched the complete game, giving up only three hits and striking out seven.  Both Bison runs came in the top of the first inning and were unearned.

After committing three errors in the top of the first, the Cowboys defense settled down, allowing only 3 base-runners the rest of the way.  The Cowboys tied it up in the bottom of the third inning on Garrison Thornton’s RBI single and Isaiah Hairston’s fielder’s choice with the bases loaded.  The winning run cam in the bottom of the fourth inning when Tommy Zente lead the inning off with a single and then scored on Tom Grose’s single.  Paul Bullock and Jacob Edwards had the other Cowboy hits on the evening.

With the win, the Cowboys advance to the conference championship game at 7pm on Friday night at Ragsdale High School.  They will face East Forsyth.
