The Cowboys jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after 2 innings, only to see Trinity pull even after 4 innings. Both teams played a typical early season game , as it was a little sloppy from time to time. Ultimately the Cowboys had more timely hitting, more consistent pitching, and cleaner defense than Trinity. Leading off the top of the 6th, with the game knotted at 10-10, The Cowboy bats came back to life, and they capitalized on some Trinity mistakes, to take back the lead for good, and pulled away for the final 18-11. Matt Christy pitched 2 2/3 innings, Blake Blackport went 2 1/3, and Hunter Pace closed with the final 6 outs to seal the win.
