Mens Junior Varsity Football

Martin Medley is in his ninth year as the Outside Linebacker Coach and Junior Varsity
Defensive Coordinator here at Southwest Guilford High School. Coach Medley has a
bachelor’s degree in Social Science with a concentration in education. Currently, Coach
Medley is studying for a master’s in education and will complete his degree in
December of 2022. Also, Coach Medley is an ordained Christian Minister of the Gospel
at Lexington Deliverance Tabernacle in Lexington, North Carolina. Coach Medley
envisions coaching and ministry as an opportunity to educate our youth and influence
them to become future leaders in society.

Coach Medley has a beautiful wife (Tarra) and son (Bryson), who are the foundation of
his goals in life. Coach Medley believes in the structure of family, which he believes
extends to the structure, culture, and concept that constitutes a team. As an
experienced high school coach of eighteen years, Coach Medley obtained a great deal
of knowledge coaching at Lexington Middle School, Lexington Senior High School, and
Southwest Guilford High School. In addition, Coach Medley is a former college student
athlete who played football at Wingate University and North Carolina A&T State
University as an outside linebacker. Coach Medley is very excited and blessed to be a
part of Cowboy Nation. He looks forward to the many challenges of building a high-
quality football program at Southwest Guildford High School through education and
