Coach Doak was born in Greenville NC and attended North Pitt High School. After graduating high school, he attended Pitt Community college and earned a degree in auto mechanics before enrolling in East Carolina University where he graduated in 1994 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science and a minor in geology. In 1995,  he moved to High Point/ Greensboro area and started my coaching career in 1996. He coached football at Lexington Middle School and was the head JV baseball coach for Lexington Senior High.  In 2000, he moved to the high school and become the Varsity baseball coach and inside linebacker coach for the football team. He eventually became the defensive coordinator before leaving Lexington and moving to Southeast Guilford High School where He coached linebackers for three years and then moved to Eastern Guilford High School where He also coached linebackers and was the head track coach.  In 2011, he moved to Northwest Guilford High School and coached the defensive secondary and was head track coach for one year before moving to Southwest to become a COWBOY.  Here at Southwest he is the defensive coordinator and coaches the defensive line.
